On the 5th of March 2025, Zimbabweans met at the Zimbabwe Embassy at
429 the Strand,
London
WC2R 0JR
England .
They met to protest the in solidarity with arrested Journalist Blessed Mhlanga, the ongoing lack of legitimacy of the Emerson Mnangagwa regime and take part in acts of resistance of the undemocratic, cruel, brutal, corrupt, genocidal and inept regime of ZANU PF, which is currently led by its genocidal ruler Emerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa who has turned Zimbabwe into a Competitive Authoritarian Regime.
After an hour, they all moved to number 10 Downing Street to hand in a petition and protest against kleptocracy, human rights violations and electoral fraud in Zimbabwe which has been noted by SADC, EU and other international and regional election observers
Amongst other things they sung the original Zimbabwe National Anthem, “Ishe Komborerai Africa, Nkosi Sikelela Africa. The singing of the national anthem was led by Josephine Jenje Mudimbu and everyone took part. No one forgot the words. Even the Gen Z folk sang the national anthem and some said they preferred it to the current one.
On the day Josephine Jenje Mudimbu also made the suggestion of getting the placards made up. They read #FreeBlessedMhlanga which has been trending in Zimbabwe social media for a few days now.
One of the conversations was around election integrity in the Zimbabwean context. It seems the allegations are that the Arresting and torture of Namatai Kwekweza and others was linked to alleged ZANU PF corruption and theft of hundreds of millions donated election funds from the European Union, the USA 🇺🇸, the U.K. 🇬🇧 and other Governments through Mike Chimombe, Wicknell Chivhayo and Moses Mpofu, through very dubious schemes that were sanctioned by the President of Zimbabwe, Emerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa.
The main instigator of the election integrity conversation was Shorai Spencer Guzha. He started off talking about the arrest of and in solidarity of Blessed Mhlanga. Then he talked about the electoral commission ZEC, which is headed by Pricilla Chigumba who is rumoured to have received bribes in leaked audios. He then talked about the time given to the opposition party during elections. He was followed by Francisca Chidaku, who spoke clearly and plainly and said why we were there on the 5th of March 2025. She was followed by Dickson Chikwizo who spoke about the time it took for ballot papers to arrive at polling stations in the Cities of Harare and Bulawayo. He said ZEC is linked to ZANU PF and reiterated that he would prefer to have an independent body likely instead of ZEC.
Next up was Josephine Jenje Mudimbu who showed what seemed to great understanding and insight into what was happening. She managed to give some analysis and said the arrests were not because of corruption, but because they are alleged to have exposed Wiknell Chivhayo and likely Mnangagwa himself too.
Next up was Tatenda Changambika who spoke passionately about the ineptitude of Mnangagwa and others who are in the Governmen and the lack of integrity in the election process and the judicial system.
Next was a conversation between Phyllis Magejo, Regina Maguwu and Josephine Jenje Mudimbu
On reflection it seems the fear might have been that Namatai Kwekweza and others were going to start a Revolution due to leaks of important information within ZANU PF circles around the election rigging, theft and a very skittish Government that rules by forcing consent and has literally bludgeoned Zimbabweans, through having orgies of violence in order to subdue and dissenting voices. Sadly it seems this was far from the truth. They were tortured for nothing on baseless allegations and scant investigation intelligence. It seems this was linked to the arrest of Mpofu and Chimombeas it is alleged they were arrested because they exposed Wicknell Chivhayo and Emerson Mnangagwa to the world, not for their crimes or involvement in theft of donations.
It also seems Blessed Mhlanga was arrested because Blessed Geza is untouchable in Zimbabwe. It seems this was a clear warning to other journalists.
The most disturbing revelation was that there are what can only described as torture chambers at the Harare International AirPort which has the IATA call for sign HRE.
It seems the European Union 🇪🇺 is mulling the idea of no longer funding Zimbabwean elections and that could have been one of the reasons why Mnangagwa’s camp was talking about staying him staying on until 2030.
